Accountant / Bilanzbuchhalter – Financial Ledger & Automation

About the role

Appinio is looking for an ambitious, tech‑savvy Accountant (m/f/d) to become the technical architect of its accounting function. You will ensure the highest quality of financial data while building a scalable, automated accounting ecosystem for a fast‑growing global market‑research company.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and optimise the financial ledgers of the Appinio Group, guaranteeing 100 % accuracy, compliance and thorough documentation.
• Collaborate with the Team Lead Accounting to deliver fast, clean month‑end and year‑end closes (HGB) for the German entity and support subsidiaries.
• Prepare all documentation and schedules for annual audits, acting as the internal expert for auditors.
• Drive implementation and optimisation of the accounting tool‑stack (Light, DATEV, Lucanet) to create a fully digital, scalable function.
• Serve as a technical gatekeeper, reviewing accounting topics, ensuring data robustness and reducing manual work.
• Provide technical sparring on accounting, tax and compliance issues and support consolidation across subsidiaries in Spain, the UK, the US and Colombia.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of professional experience in accounting or finance.
• Strong understanding of German GAAP (HGB) and international accounting standards.
• Tech‑oriented mindset with a passion for automation and data quality.
