Accountant (Bilanzbuchhalter)

About the role

We are looking for a qualified Accountant (Bilanzbuchhalter) to ensure accurate financial reporting, statutory compliance, and support the financial health of our organization. The role focuses on German accounting standards (HGB) and offers opportunities to improve processes and systems.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Produce monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in line with HGB.
• Handle complete bookkeeping, including intercompany reconciliation and fixed‑asset accounting.
• Oversee VAT, corporate tax filings and liaise with auditors and tax advisors.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Identify and implement process improvements and manage accounting software such as NetSuite.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, support internal audits and manage dunning procedures for overdue accounts.

Required profile

• Certified Bilanzbuchhalter or equivalent qualification.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience with strong HGB compliance.
• Fluent in written and spoken German and English.
