Accountant (m/f/d) – Finance Team

About the role

Habyt is a fast‑growing flexible housing company looking for a hands‑on Accountant to join its Finance team in Berlin. Reporting to the CFO, you will support group functions across accounting, tax, reporting, IFRS implementation, system roll‑outs and process improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Perform day‑to‑day accounting tasks, ensuring compliance with German GAAP and IFRS.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations and financial reports.
• Support accounts payable and receivable processes.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing, delivering accurate financial statements.
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors during audits and tax filings.
• Help implement a new ERP system and develop accounting and tax policies.
• Prepare and submit German tax returns for the company and its subsidiaries.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders in English and German.

Required profile

• ~3 years of accounting experience in a high‑growth startup or tech environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or similar certification preferred.
• Knowledge of German GAAP, tax regulations and IFRS.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Fluent written and spoken English and German.

• Experience with ERP systems.
• Proficiency in accounting software.
• Advanced use of MS Office applications.
