Backend Engineer – Python

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Backend Engineer with deep Python expertise to help shape and build the core backend architecture of our AI‑driven simulation and inference platform. The role is remote‑friendly with a hybrid option for candidates based in Germany, and you will work closely with product, frontend, and infrastructure teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, secure, high‑performance backend services.
• Define and evolve APIs, data models, and backend patterns for complex simulation workflows.
• Integrate simulator and inference products to deliver an end‑to‑end system.
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams to align services with Kubernetes‑based environments.
• Work with frontend, UI/UX, and infrastructure teams to ensure cohesive system design.
• Build services capable of handling large‑scale, data‑intensive, latency‑sensitive operations.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional Python development, focusing on backend systems.
• Proven experience delivering scalable, resilient architectures in production.
• Hands‑on experience with FastAPI.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and system design.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and high‑throughput data modeling.
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes and containerised environments.
• Familiarity with observability tools such as Prometheus.
• Commitment to performance, reliability, and security best practices.
