Chief Medical Officer – Hospital Leadership

About the role

The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) will lead all clinical and medical functions at Dushanbe International Hospital, a new 163‑bed multidisciplinary facility in Tajikistan. Reporting to senior management, the CMO ensures the highest standards of patient care, safety, and regulatory compliance while fostering a culture of clinical excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily clinical operations and coordinate with department heads to optimize efficiency.
• Supervise, mentor, and motivate doctors and multidisciplinary clinical teams.
• Develop, implement, and monitor clinical policies, protocols, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Lead medical staff training, performance evaluation, and continuous professional development.
• Support accreditation, licensing, and regulatory compliance processes.
• Participate in strategic planning and hospital development projects.

Required profile

• Medical Doctor (MD) degree with a valid medical license.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in hospital settings.
• At least 5 years in a senior leadership role within government or private hospitals.
• Proven track record of managing and developing physicians and clinical staff.
• Strong background in medical training, clinical supervision, and quality assurance.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and decision‑making abilities.
• Deep understanding of hospital operations, patient safety, and quality standards.
