Data Center Technician (L2) – Operations & Infrastructure

About the role

HCLTech is looking for an experienced Data Center Technician (L2) to join its Frankfurt site. You will own shift operations in a 24x7, high‑availability environment, ensuring service continuity and compliance with SLAs.

Key responsibilities

• Manage shift operations, guaranteeing 24x7 availability and KPI compliance.
• Act as primary escalation point for P1‑P3 incidents and drive resolution.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting across server, storage and network platforms.
• Execute complex IMAC/R/D tasks such as rack‑and‑stack, cabling, and deployments.
• Validate installations against power, space and cooling requirements.
• Lead root‑cause analysis for major incidents.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for maintenance and issue resolution.
• Maintain security standards, support audit activities and keep CMDB/asset records up to date.
• Provide shift handovers, operational reporting and guidance to L1 technicians.

Required profile

• 5‑7 years of hands‑on experience in data‑center operations or IT infrastructure support.
• Strong knowledge of servers, storage and networking environments.
• Proven incident‑management and advanced troubleshooting skills (P1‑P3).
• Experience with IMAC activities and structured cabling (fiber & copper).
• Familiarity with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow) and ITIL‑based processes.
• Fluent in English; German is a plus.
