Financial Reporting Accountant – Hybrid (m/f/d)

About the role

Join BASF's Global Business Services as a Financial Reporting Accountant. You will work in an international team, handling the general ledger and acting as a key finance interface for subsidiaries and central units.

Key responsibilities

• Process transactions in the general ledger, lease and asset accounting, and reconcile with sub‑ledgers.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and local GAAP, supporting income‑tax calculations.
• Manage monthly group reporting for European BASF entities and respond to internal and external reporting inquiries.
• Serve as the primary contact on accounting matters for subsidiaries, hub departments, central financial units and external auditors.
• Participate in projects that drive technical, procedural and cultural improvements.

Required profile

• Degree in business administration or an apprenticeship focused on accounting, or an equivalent qualification.
• Strong knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel; experience with SAP R/3 or SAP S/4HANA is a plus.
• Very good command of English; Polish or German language skills are advantageous.
• High motivation, independent working style and analytical thinking.
• Enthusiasm for automation and digitisation of processes.
