Freelance Safety Physician – International Biotech

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Safety Physician to join a leading international biotech company on a freelance basis. The role is primarily remote, with occasional on‑site visits to Munich, and focuses on ensuring the highest standards of safety management across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to drive safety excellence.
• Maintain and improve safety SOPs, templates, and processes.
• Lead safety inspections and ensure inspection readiness.
• Mentor peers and team members on safety‑related topics.
• Oversee safety vendors and provide sponsor oversight.

Required profile

• Medical Doctor qualification.
• Proven experience as a Safety Physician in a biotech or pharmaceutical environment.
• Ability to work independently and manage a 30‑40 hour weekly workload.
• Willingness to travel to Munich 1‑2 times per month.
