Head, Air Operations Branch

About the role

Based in Ramstein, Germany, you will lead the Air Operations Branch of the NATO Communications and Information Agency. You will be responsible for embedding strategic management into operational processes and ensuring the delivery of secure, reliable services across peacetime, crisis and war scenarios.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, communicate, implement and review processes that integrate strategic management into daily operations.
• Lead the creation or revision of strategies that meet business requirements.
• Provide detailed advice on the application of specialised knowledge to planning and operations.
• Maintain up‑to‑date expertise in one or more identified specialisms.
• Form, maintain and lead workgroups and individuals to achieve organisational objectives.
• Delegate objectives and tasks to teams, including people‑management responsibilities where appropriate.
• Facilitate workgroups to deliver defined goals and outcomes.
• Plan and manage acquisition and deployment of resources to meet demand.
• Identify communication and relationship needs of stakeholder groups.
• Translate stakeholder‑engagement strategies into concrete activities.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in air operations, defence or a related field.
• Strong background in strategic management and operational planning.
• Ability to manage and motivate multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent stakeholder‑engagement and communication skills.
• Familiarity with NATO or similar multinational defence environments.
• Capability to operate effectively in peacetime, crisis and wartime contexts.
