Information Systems Officer – Cybersecurity (P‑4)

About the role

The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) is seeking an Information Systems Officer (Cybersecurity) at the P‑4 level to provide strategic oversight and technical guidance for the protection of its ICT environment. Reporting to the ICT Manager, the incumbent will shape and enforce information security governance across the Secretariat.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain information security policies, standard operating procedures and guidelines aligned with organisational objectives.
• Establish and operate a cybersecurity governance framework that meets regulatory requirements and defines key performance indicators.
• Identify, assess and mitigate cyber‑security risks, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to ensure effective controls.
• Oversee the implementation of security controls, conduct audits of cyber‑security practices and provide guidance on corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain cybersecurity strategies and implementation plans for protecting information assets.

Required profile

• Relevant professional experience in information security governance, policy development and risk management.
• Proven ability to design and implement cybersecurity frameworks within large organisations.
• Experience working in an international or intergovernmental environment is desirable.
