Inhouse Legal Counsel

About the role

We are looking for a qualified, business‑oriented Legal Counsel to support the legal function of our Poland subsidiary. The role will act as a key legal partner to the local business, ensuring compliance, managing legal risks, and supporting commercial operations within a dynamic international environment.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate and advise on a wide range of legal documents in German and English, including commercial contracts, service agreements, leasing agreements and NDAs.
• Provide practical, business‑oriented legal advice, opinions and memoranda to internal stakeholders.
• Handle debt collection matters, including pre‑litigation and enforcement procedures.
• Manage litigation cases and represent the company independently before German courts where applicable.
• Oversee corporate legal matters such as compliance, governance and regulatory requirements.
• Act as liaison between the local entity and the headquarters’ legal department, ensuring alignment and timely reporting.
• Translate complex legal issues into clear, actionable recommendations for non‑legal stakeholders.
• Select, instruct and manage external law firms to ensure high‑quality, efficient and cost‑effective legal services.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Law (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience as a lawyer or in‑house counsel in Germany.
• Solid knowledge of the German legal system; experience in construction machinery, engineering or financial leasing is a plus.
• Strong contract drafting, negotiation and analytical abilities.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple stakeholders in a fast‑paced environment.
• Experience managing external counsel is preferred.
• Qualified to practice law in Germany (e.g., Attorney‑at‑law) and able to represent the company in German courts.
• Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
