Junior Software Engineer / Full Stack

About the role

Join Zalando’s Fulfillment Core team as a Junior Software Engineer. You will work on centralised inventory‑management capabilities that underpin every fulfillment process, delivering new features and improving existing components.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test and deploy new features that create value for customers.
• Extend existing software components with small features and bug fixes.
• Automate repetitive tasks and enhance test coverage to improve developer experience.
• Collaborate with peers to monitor the real‑time behaviour of code in production.

Required profile

• Academic degree in Computer Science or a comparable field.
• At least 1 year of experience with a JVM‑based language (Java or Kotlin) or with TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Understanding of business value for customers or internal teams.
• Commitment to learning good software‑design practices and engineering fundamentals.
• Ability to explain solutions clearly in team discussions.
