Kitchen Assistant – Breakfast Kitchen

About the role

The Ritz-Carlton Berlin is seeking a motivated Kitchen Assistant for its breakfast kitchen. You will support the culinary team by preparing ingredients, cooking simple dishes, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Portion, chop, wash, peel, and store fresh fruits and vegetables.
• Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes.
• Prepare and cook hot and cold foods, following quality and presentation standards.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers safely.
• Test foods for doneness and monitor food quality throughout preparation.
• Set up and break down work stations, serve food in proper portions, and clean/disinfect kitchen areas, tools, and equipment.
• Check and record appliance and food temperatures.
• Follow all safety, security, and company policies, reporting any hazards or incidents.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• At least one year of experience in a kitchen or food‑service environment.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 25 lb and work in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Operating ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
• Food preparation techniques (portioning, chopping, weighing, mixing).
• Food safety and temperature monitoring.
