Legal Counsel – German Business

About the role

The Legal Counsel will join the European Onshore Legal team and report to the Head of Legal for Perigus Energy Europe. The position focuses on providing legal advice and support to the German business unit across a range of commercial and regulatory matters.

Key responsibilities

• Advise business units on real estate, permitting, construction and service contracts.
• Support acquisition of new projects and partnerships, including contract drafting, negotiation and due‑diligence coordination.
• Monitor regulatory developments affecting the business and ensure compliance with financial reporting rules for revenue and energy trading contracts.
• Manage external legal providers, track legal spend and optimise external resources.
• Handle additional legal matters such as NDAs, corporate queries, company secretarial services in Germany and dispute management.

Required profile

• German‑qualified lawyer with at least 5 years post‑qualification experience, preferably in an in‑house corporate environment or a corporate law firm.
• Strong academic credentials and proven ability to lead internal and external stakeholders.
• Fluent in both German and English.

Required skills

• Experience managing commercial contracts.
• Knowledge of energy sector legal issues.
