Mechanical Design Engineer – Dimensional Analysis

About the role

Join Tesla’s Vehicle Engineering team in Berlin as a Mechanical Design Engineer focused on dimensional analysis. You will support the development of cutting‑edge automotive products by applying advanced simulation and statistical techniques to ensure high‑quality manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Perform dimensional CAE simulations using dedicated software and communicate requirements across engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams.
• Provide dimensional expertise for a wide range of vehicle systems, from seats and battery packs to autopilot hardware.
• Participate in all stages of the design cycle, from concept through production ramp‑up.
• Collaborate with styling, design, manufacturing, supply chain, quality and other cross‑functional groups.
• Apply GD&T principles (ASME Y14.5) to define and control geometric tolerances.

Required profile

• Degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals and a first‑principles approach.
• Experience with CATIA or comparable CAD tools.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
• Comfort with multivariable capability analysis and statistical testing.
• Prior experience in dimensional engineering or a related CAE role is valued, ranging from entry‑level to expert.
