Product Designer Collaboration Platform

About the role

Beats & Bytes (B3S), a network of small, autonomous product teams at Universal Music's headquarters in Berlin, is looking for a Product Designer (all genders) for its Design & Insights Team. The position is full-time, initially limited to 2 years with the possibility of extension, and reports to the VP Product. You will help design an internal tool used by teams across Universal Music Group to plan, manage and collaborate on music releases.

Key responsibilities

• Work closely with product, engineering, research and senior designers to understand user needs, define problems and design clear, usable solutions.
• Take part in the full design process: mapping workflows, exploring concepts, prototyping, testing ideas with users and preparing high-quality designs for implementation.
• Contribute to the design language ecosystems so that product experiences are consistent, scalable and well crafted across platforms.
• Use AI tools thoughtfully and help explore how AI can improve work, design and product building.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience designing digital products, ideally internal tools, SaaS products or complex workflows.
• A portfolio showing strong product thinking, interaction design and well-crafted visual design.
• Strong English reading, writing and speaking; German is a plus and learning it is encouraged.
• Collaborative, open communicator, comfortable in a globally distributed environment and with ambiguity.

Required skills

• Interface design, layout, typography, information architecture and interaction patterns.
• Experience with design systems and using existing components consistently and scalably.
• Interest in AI tools and workflows for product design.
