Quality Manager – ISO 9001 / AQAP 2210

About the role

Walaris is seeking a Quality Manager to lead the design, implementation and continuous improvement of its Quality Management System (QMS) for defense‑focused autonomous systems. The role will be based in Nuremberg and will support ISO 9001 and AQAP 2210 certification efforts.

Key responsibilities

• Establish, implement and maintain a QMS aligned with ISO 9001 and AQAP 2210 standards.
• Develop, document and roll out quality policies, processes and standards across the organization.
• Plan and execute internal audits and support external auditors during certification.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, customer‑specific and defense sector requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering, project management and executive teams to embed quality practices.
• Provide training and raise awareness on quality topics for all employees.
• Manage QMS documentation and support supplier evaluation and quality assurance activities.

Required profile

• Degree in engineering, computer science, quality management or a related field.
• Several years of professional experience in quality management, preferably in software or regulated industries such as defense or aerospace.
• Proven track record of establishing a QMS and achieving ISO 9001 and/or AQAP 2210 certification.
• Strong initiative and ability to work independently in a small‑company environment.
• Fluent English with excellent communication skills across all levels.
