Senior Data Scientist – Marketing (m/f/d)

About the role

As a Senior Data Scientist within the Marketing department at StepStone Group, you will drive AI‑powered solutions that improve how millions of job seekers and recruiters connect. You will design, build and operationalise advanced machine‑learning models, including large‑language‑model fine‑tuning and state‑of‑the‑the‑art NLP, to deliver intelligent recommendations and conversational agents.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a strategic partner to Marketing, translating business objectives into data‑driven AI strategies.
• Lead the end‑to‑end ML lifecycle – from problem definition and data exploration to model development, evaluation and production deployment.
• Collaborate with data engineers and software developers to integrate models into enterprise systems using AWS SageMaker, Docker and Airflow.
• Stay up‑to‑date with the latest generative AI and NLP research and apply relevant techniques.
• Contribute to internal data‑science community through hackathons, training sessions and knowledge‑sharing initiatives.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of professional experience in data science or AI, with at least 2 years of stakeholder‑facing responsibilities.
• Proven hands‑on experience with LLM fine‑tuning, modern NLP frameworks and generative AI applications.
• Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
