Software Engineer, Backend Systems

About the role

Apple’s Insights & Release Technologies team is looking for a passionate Software Engineer to shape the next generation of productivity tools used by Apple engineers. You will work on high‑performance backend systems that accelerate the delivery of software to millions of users.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain sophisticated, high‑performance backend applications.
• Collaborate with designers, project managers, and engineers to define and deliver world‑class features.
• Lead architectural and design discussions, ensuring solutions are robust, scalable, and forward‑thinking.
• Write clean, elegant, well‑tested code that sets quality standards for the team.
• Mentor other engineers and provide constructive feedback during code reviews.
• Own the full development lifecycle from concept and prototyping through testing, release, and post‑launch support.

Required profile

• Experienced developer with a product‑mindset and strong focus on user experience.
• Demonstrated architectural excellence and problem‑solving, debugging, and testing skills.
• Passion for quality, attention to detail, and delivering outstanding user experiences.
• Ability to lead technical discussions, mentor peers, and drive features from concept to launch.
