Software Engineer – Java Backend

About the role

JD.com is looking for an experienced Java Software Engineer to develop and maintain backend services for its Joybuy retail platform across European markets such as the UK, France, Germany and the Netherlands. You will work on performance, scalability and integration of global infrastructure while collaborating closely with product management.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain high‑performance, secure and scalable backend systems for Joybuy.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks, ensuring monitorability, maintainability and supporting grey‑release or rollback capabilities.
• Research, adopt and promote new technologies and methodologies to improve system architecture.
• Explore integration opportunities between emerging technologies and the global system landscape.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related technical field.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in Java development.
• Strong passion for technology and continuous improvement.
