Supply Chain Engineer – Transportation Sector (M/F)

About the role

ALTEN is looking for a motivated Supply Chain Engineer to join its transportation team in Germany. You will support sourcing, procurement and inventory management activities while ensuring seamless collaboration between production and logistics.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and qualify suppliers based on quality, cost and lead‑time criteria.
• Negotiate manufacturing schedules and delivery timelines.
• Manage inventory levels and forecast procurement needs using SAP.
• Coordinate with production and logistics to guarantee smooth workflow.
• Track orders from placement to receipt, ensuring full traceability.
• Monitor KPIs, analyse data and propose continuous‑improvement actions.
• Prepare activity reports for management.
• Participate in supplier panel meetings to align on cost, lead time, quality and customer satisfaction.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (BAC+5) or equivalent.
• Previous supply‑chain experience in the transportation sector (e.g., aerospace, automotive).
• Fluent in English and German.
• Willingness to relocate to Germany and eligibility for the VIE program.
