Clinical Research Physician

About the role

We are seeking a Clinical Research Physician to join our Early Phase Clinical Unit (EPCU) in Berlin. The physician will act as co‑investigator on Phase I and II trials, ensuring participant safety and supporting the Principal Investigator throughout trial preparation, conduct and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Co‑investigate and oversee Phase I/II clinical studies in compliance with protocol, SOPs, ICH‑GCP and German regulations.
• Monitor trial safety, manage adverse events and ensure continuous participant protection.
• Assist the Principal Investigator and Deputy PI with study design, documentation, and regulatory submissions.
• Coordinate medical activities, maintain study documentation and contribute to medical reports, publications and SOPs.
• Participate in sponsor meetings, scientific discussions and interactions with external specialists.
• Support Medical Operations through process optimisation, data quality initiatives and emergency training.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MD) with German approbation.
• Experience in early‑phase clinical research and familiarity with German/European drug laws and ICH‑GCP.
• Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken.
• Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification, current and valid.
• Willingness to work full‑time (40 h) or part‑time (30 h) with occasional morning, afternoon, night and weekend shifts.

• Strong clinical and ethical problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective peer and patient relationship management.
