DevOps Engineer (Automation Systems) – Freelance AI Trainer

About the role

Mindrift is seeking a freelance DevOps Engineer to support the Tendem project, a hybrid AI‑human automation platform. You will design, deploy and maintain the infrastructure that powers high‑volume automation workflows, ensuring reliability and scalability.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy and maintain self‑hosted automation environments such as n8n instances.
• Design infrastructure capable of handling large‑scale data processing and concurrent workloads.
• Scale automation systems to meet performance‑intensive demands.
• Set up monitoring, logging and alerting to track workflow health and detect failures.
• Implement alerts for critical events like node failures or performance drops.
• Ensure high availability, fault tolerance and overall system uptime.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure engineering or backend system management.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field is a plus.
• Strong track record of maintaining high‑availability and scalable architectures.
• Self‑directed work ethic with the ability to troubleshoot and optimise infrastructure independently.

Required skills

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP or similar).
• Containerisation tools such as Docker.
• Automation platforms (e.g., n8n) and high‑frequency workflow support.
• Monitoring, logging and alerting systems (metrics, uptime monitoring).
• Design and implementation of scaling strategies and fault‑tolerant systems.
