Hybrid Near Patient Nurse – Germany

About the role

International SOS is seeking an experienced hospital nurse to join its TRICARE Overseas Program in Germany. The position combines on‑site hospital visits with remote coordination, offering a balanced work schedule without night shifts and the chance to work in an international, patient‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the clinical liaison between German hospitals and International SOS medical teams.
• Manage inpatient cases, monitor care quality, and ensure patient safety throughout the hospital stay.
• Produce accurate medical reports in English and provide regular clinical updates to international stakeholders.
• Coordinate safe discharge plans and continuity of care across borders.
• Support patients in understanding their diagnosis, treatment options, and the German healthcare system, offering bilingual assistance.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with local providers and contribute to quality‑assessment activities.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (Pflegefachkraft / Gesundheits‑ und Krankenpfleger) with at least three years of bedside experience in an inpatient setting.
• Active registration to practice nursing in Germany.
• Fluent in German and English (minimum B2 level in both languages).
• Strong communication, independent work style, and confidence with digital documentation systems.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel within the region.
