Junior Software Engineer – Berlin

About the role

Cresta is looking for a motivated Junior Software Engineer or Intern to join its Berlin tech hub. You will work alongside experienced engineers, product managers and ML specialists to help build AI‑driven features for contact‑center platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and enhance backend services that power real‑time AI capabilities and search functionality.
• Create and maintain APIs for internal and external integrations (REST, gRPC).
• Contribute across the stack when needed, including frontend (React) and infrastructure tasks.
• Take features from implementation through deployment with mentorship and code reviews.
• Participate in technical discussions and adopt best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or currently pursuing one.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and solid computer‑science fundamentals.
• Willingness to learn, ask questions and collaborate in a team environment.
• Clear communication skills and a team‑oriented mindset.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one backend language such as Python, Go or Node.js.
• Experience with API design (REST, gRPC).
• Familiarity with databases like PostgreSQL, ClickHouse or Elasticsearch.
• Basic understanding of system design, distributed systems or cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Exposure to frontend development with React is a plus.
