Machine Learning Scientist – Biomolecule Generative Models

About the role

Inceptive is building a biological software platform that uses large‑scale foundation models to design therapeutic biomolecules. As a Machine Learning Scientist you will join an antedisciplinary team of ML researchers, engineers, and biologists to create and improve generative models that explore the vast design space of proteins, nucleic acids and other biomolecules.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, train and iteratively refine state‑of‑the‑art generative models for biomolecule design.
• Analyze, visualise and communicate experimental results to guide model and data improvements.
• Build and maintain robust tooling for efficient ML experimentation and production pipelines.
• Collaborate with computational and experimental biologists to collect and curate training and evaluation datasets.
• Mentor junior team members and provide technical direction as needed.

Required profile

• 3+ years of hands‑on experience developing machine‑learning models.
• Proven track record of implementing and improving advanced deep‑learning systems.
• Strong programming skills in Python and experience with PyTorch or a comparable deep‑learning framework.
• Willingness to work across US and European time zones (meetings 8 am PT – 7 pm CET) and travel for company retreats.
• Preferably a PhD in AI/ML, computer science, computational biology, physics or equivalent industry experience.
