Simulation & Optimization Engineer – International Engineering Programs

About the role

We are looking for a Simulation and Optimization Engineer to join Amazon’s International Engineering Programs team. The role will be based in one of several European cities (Berlin, London, Milan, Madrid, Barcelona or Paris) and will involve up to 50 % travel across EMEA to support the design, launch and optimisation of Amazon fulfillment buildings.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and run infrastructure and flow simulations to determine yard and under‑the‑roof requirements for new and existing sites.
• Provide data‑driven design inputs and recommendations to improve site performance and achieve benchmark rates.
• Lead high‑profile meetings, compile weekly project metrics and report progress to senior stakeholders.
• Identify and implement year‑on‑year cost‑saving and process‑improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with Site Leads, Operations Managers, Project Managers, Design Engineers and global simulation teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience in simulation, optimisation or related engineering roles within large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Ability to work in ambiguous environments and make decisions under pressure.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build credibility with diverse stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel extensively across Europe and work with multicultural teams.
