Software Engineer – Retail Services

About the role

JD.com is looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join its European technology team. You will help design, build and evolve the software services that power JD’s retail platform JoyBuy and its operations across the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, France and other European markets. The role works closely with product management, platform and retail application teams in a fast‑paced, international environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and extend JD retail services and platform with a focus on performance, availability, security and scalability.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks, implementing monitoring, maintainability and grey‑release/rollback capabilities.
• Enhance operational excellence for business partners by extending JD’s technical capabilities.
• Research, adopt and promote new technologies and methodologies to improve efficiency and reduce operational cost.
• Explore integration opportunities between emerging technologies and global system architectures.
• Strengthen software development principles and processes across the team.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a software engineer delivering high‑quality solutions in a dynamic, multi‑domain setting.
• Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams and take ownership of deliverables.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset and attention to technical detail.
