Facilities Shift Manager – Data Centre Operations

About the role

As a Facilities Shift Manager you will oversee the reliability, safety and performance of critical infrastructure in a flagship data centre operating 24/7. You will ensure that power, cooling, security and monitoring systems function optimally throughout your shift, supporting continuous uptime and service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain critical building systems – power, cooling, security and environmental monitoring – to ensure peak performance.
• Schedule, coordinate and supervise planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs, adhering to safety protocols and minimizing disruption.
• Enforce compliance with Standard Operating Procedures, Methods of Procedures and Emergency Operating Procedures, and ensure team training.
• Conduct scenario‑based drills and regular audits to test emergency preparedness and improve response capabilities.
• Prepare and present detailed maintenance reports and records for management review.
• Communicate clearly with engineering, security and service teams, providing technical guidance and keeping stakeholders informed.

Required profile

• Proven experience operating facilities in a 24/7 critical environment such as a data centre.
• Strong safety‑first mindset with ability to enforce SOPs, MOPs and EOPs and maintain meticulous documentation.
• Calm under pressure, capable of leading shift teams, coordinating incidents and driving continuous improvement.
