Finance Lead (FP&A)

About the role

As the first dedicated finance hire at Prior Labs, you will partner with the founders to build the financial foundation of a fast‑growing AI frontier lab. You will own the company’s financial model, reporting and controls, enabling leadership and SAP to make data‑driven decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain a comprehensive financial model covering revenue, costs, cash flow and P&L, with annual budgets, rolling forecasts and scenario analysis.
• Establish and monitor operational SaaS metrics such as ARR, unit economics, gross margin, burn rate and runway.
• Implement spend control, cash discipline and light financial controlling, including budget‑vs‑actual tracking and vendor cost decisions.
• Produce regular financial reports for leadership and SAP, translating drivers into clear recommendations.
• Set up scalable finance infrastructure, selecting tools, automating data feeds and evaluating AI‑driven finance solutions.

Required profile

• Proven experience building and owning a core company financial model for an AI or deep‑tech organization.
• Hands‑on experience establishing an FP&A function from near‑zero in an early‑stage, ambiguous environment.
• Track record of managing annual budgets, rolling forecasts and budget‑vs‑actual reporting directly to founders.
• Strong judgment on when to prioritize speed over rigor and on the appropriate use of AI and automation in finance.
• Experience coordinating external accounting partners and implementing lightweight financial controls.
