Financial Reporting Accountant – Hybrid (Berlin)

About the role

Join BASF's Global Business Services as a Financial Reporting Accountant in Berlin. You will work in a hybrid setting, supporting the group’s accounting processes and gaining exposure to international financial reporting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Process business transactions in the general ledger, asset and lease accounting, and reconcile sub‑ledgers.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS, HGB and local GAAP for European BASF entities.
• Support income‑tax calculations and provide input for group reporting.
• Act as the central contact for subsidiaries, finance departments, central finance units and external auditors on accounting matters.
• Participate in projects, tool development and the implementation of SAP S/4HANA.

Required profile

• Degree in business administration or an apprenticeship focused on accounting, or an equivalent qualification.
• Relevant experience in accounting (financial, management, AP/AR, etc.).
• Good knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel; experience with SAP R/3 and SAP S/4HANA is a plus.
• Very good command of English and German; additional European languages are advantageous.
• High motivation, independent analytical thinking and enthusiasm for process automation.
