Robotics Software Engineer

About the role

Amazon Robotics is seeking a Robotics Software Engineer to design, prototype, integrate, test and launch robotic applications across its fulfillment centers. The role involves close collaboration with applied scientists, hardware engineers and project managers to deliver end‑to‑end robotic systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design, prototype, integrate, test and launch robotic applications in Amazon fulfillment centers.
• Participate in all development phases: concept, design, architecture, prototyping, and production implementation.
• Optimize performance and maintain software throughout its lifecycle.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, and operations teams globally.
• Contribute to software design reviews and promote team best practices.
• Work closely with applied scientists and project managers to align technical solutions with business goals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Experience programming in at least one modern language (Java, C++, C#) with object‑oriented design.
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and the full software development lifecycle.
• Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Ruby or Perl.
• Understanding of computer architecture, operating systems and parallel computing.
• Experience with Linux development environments, multithreading and concurrency.
