Senior Transport & Freight Manager – European Logistics

About the role

Airatransport GmbH is seeking a commercially driven Senior Transport & Freight Manager to lead transport operations, freight sourcing, carrier management and business development across Europe. The role is ideal for a self‑sufficient logistics professional with deep knowledge of the European transport market and an existing network of customers and carriers.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and optimise daily transport operations across Germany and Europe, covering automotive, vehicle, general freight and specialised services.
• Plan and optimise routes to maximise efficiency, profitability and compliance with regulations.
• Source, negotiate and secure freight opportunities, develop a portfolio of transport customers and maximise fleet/sub‑contractor utilisation.
• Purchase, broker and manage freight through direct customers, freight exchanges and industry networks.
• Negotiate rates and commercial agreements with customers and carriers to achieve profitable margins.
• Generate new business using existing network, build long‑term relationships with shippers, manufacturers, freight forwarders and logistics providers.

Required profile

• Proven track record in European transport and freight markets with strong commercial mindset.
• Ability to work independently, drive business growth and ensure operational excellence.
• Established relationships with customers, carriers and industry contacts.
• Experience in managing complex logistics operations and negotiating contracts.

• Starting salary from €75,000 per annum plus 10% commission and performance‑based bonus.
