About the role

Join BASF's Global Business Services as a Tax Specialist supporting the German BASF Group companies. You will work in a hybrid setting, handling general ledger, fixed‑asset accounting, and ensuring accurate reconciliation with sub‑ledgers.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with HGB and IFRS.
• Calculate income tax for German BASF Group entities.
• Produce monthly group reporting and respond to internal and external inquiries.
• Act as the central contact for subsidiaries, sub‑ledger teams and BASF’s central finance units.
• Maintain fixed‑asset accounting and ensure timely reconciliations.

Required profile

• Commercial vocational training with a focus on taxation or a degree in Business Administration (Accounting, Controlling or Taxation).
• Initial experience in external financial reporting and knowledge of HGB (IFRS experience is a plus).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic knowledge of SAP R/3 or SAP S/4HANA.
• Very good German and good English language skills.
• High motivation, independent work style and strong analytical thinking.
