Supplier Quality Engineer – Components & Field Services

About the role

As a Supplier Quality Engineer you will support Siemens Energy’s Gas Services division by ensuring that component and field‑service suppliers meet all required quality standards. You will work closely with cross‑functional commodity and procurement teams in a multicultural environment, both locally and globally.

Key responsibilities

• Assess supplier capabilities, audit quality management systems and processes, and verify compliance with specifications, drawings and standards.
• Lead or support product and process qualification (PPQ) activities for commodity parts, systems and field services.
• Perform source inspections at supplier sites and coordinate non‑conformance handling, including containment, root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Monitor supplier key performance indicators and adjust quality, inspection and development plans accordingly.
• Maintain supplier quality and development tools, databases and SAP records; provide oversight for service suppliers such as scaffolding, crane, lifting, sand‑blasting and machining.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical, industrial engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• Several years of professional experience in supplier quality or quality management, preferably in energy generation or industrial process technology.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and German.
• Familiarity with root‑cause analysis and risk‑management methodologies.

Required skills

• SAP (experience preferred).
• International Welding Engineer (IWE) certification – beneficial.
• Non‑destructive testing methods: ultrasonic (UT), radiographic (RT), penetrant (PT) and magnetic (MT).
• Auditor qualifications for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and VDA 6.3.
• Supplier qualification and product/process qualification techniques.
