Accountant

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join a reputable client of Haystack. The role involves preparing financial statements, handling VAT pre‑payments and supporting project financing and controlling activities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with HGB and optionally IFRS.
• Post and book all business transactions using the group chart of accounts.
• Prepare and monitor payment proposals and related bookings.
• Create and communicate VAT pre‑payments with the tax authority.
• Manage booking and reconciliation of balance‑sheet accounts, provisions and deferrals.
• Produce reports for refinancing and controlling within project management.

Required profile

• Certified Accountant, Tax Assistant qualification, or a commercial apprenticeship/degree focused on accounting.
• Minimum five years of professional experience in financial accounting, annual and consolidated statements.
• Independent, meticulous, reliable and team‑oriented work style.
• Initial experience leading small teams is desirable.

Required skills

• Advanced user of MS Office.
• Proficiency with accounting software such as DATEV.
