Backend Developer

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Developer who understands the real‑time nature of VoIP, can keep backup systems running 24/7, and deliver new features to our customers. The role is based onsite in either Boston, MA or Berlin, Germany.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate the product with CRM systems.
• Integrate new VoIP phone models into the provisioning framework.
• Improve MongoDB replication mechanisms.
• Integrate WebRTC‑based video conferencing.
• Connect with AI‑API for text‑to‑speech and speech‑to‑text analytics.
• Develop reporting for agent performance and generate automated email reports with charts.
• Integrate with the Vodia IO router platform backend.
• Create and execute tests.
• Maintain up‑to‑date product documentation.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science or a comparable field.
• Understanding of SIP standards.
• Basic skills in Linux and Windows programming.
• Knowledge of modern VoIP phones and HTTP/WebSocket protocols.
• Ability to create HTML pages using Bootstrap.
• Familiarity with JSON, XML, RTP, SRTP, and WebRTC JavaScript API.
• Understanding of TLS, DTLS, certificates, and cipher suites.
• Programming experience in C++ and JavaScript.
• Knowledge of single‑ and multi‑threaded environments and memory management.
• Proficiency with IDEs such as Xcode or Visual Studio.
• Strong spoken and written English.
