Commercial Analyst – Renewables Forecasting

About the role

Statkraft is looking for a Commercial Analyst to join its Renewables Forecasting team. You will support the end‑to‑end forecasting process for wind and solar portfolios across European markets, ensuring data quality and delivering commercial value.

Key responsibilities

• Implement real‑time and historical metrics to monitor renewables forecasting data quality.
• Coordinate with forecast vendors and park owners to resolve data issues.
• Collect, clean, and engineer large datasets for analysis.
• Analyse, benchmark and report on the performance of external renewable forecasts.
• Support operational forecasting by identifying and solving critical incidents.
• Prepare ad‑hoc commercial analyses for internal and external stakeholders.
• Regularly update stakeholders on performance and recent developments.

Required profile

• University degree in mathematics, physics, meteorology, engineering or business with a strong quantitative focus.
• Professional experience analysing time‑series and large datasets.
• Strong interest in short‑term energy markets, renewable energy, algorithms and data science.
• Analytical, investigative mindset with a commercial orientation.
• Proactive, independent working style and excellent English communication.

Required skills

• Python programming for modelling and data analysis.
