Engineering Internship – Large Capital Projects

About the role

This 4‑to‑9‑month internship (starting August 2026) supports BASF’s Global Engineering Services in planning large‑scale plants. You will help optimise and digitise planning processes, working across project, piping and mechanical engineering while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Assist a lead engineer in the implementation of large‑scale capital projects.
• Analyse, optimise and digitise work processes, including prototyping and piloting improvements.
• Develop Python scripts as part of cross‑divisional digitalisation initiatives.

Required profile

• Enrolled engineering student (process, mechanical, environmental, chemical or related).
• Fluent communication in German and English.
• Basic programming knowledge, ideally Python, depending on the chosen activity.
