Head of Supply Chain Management (Freelance)

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Head of Supply Chain Management on a freelance basis to lead the transformation of our planning and inventory processes in Frankfurt. The role combines strategic oversight with hands‑on execution, ensuring seamless order‑to‑cash flow and compliance within a fast‑moving chemical/pharmaceutical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic and operative supply‑chain plans.
• Lead the digital migration of planning processes to Microsoft Business Central, shaping order‑to‑cash and digital inventory management.
• Provide disciplinary and functional leadership for a Warehouse and Disposition team (2 FTE).
• Oversee inventory and materials management, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
• Track performance metrics and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration (SCM focus), Chemical Engineering or a comparable technical/commercial field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in supply‑chain or production planning, preferably in the chemical or pharmaceutical (CDMO) sector.
• Strong understanding of batch production constraints.
• Fluent business‑level German and English.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Business Central ERP.
• Broad ERP landscape competency.
