Junior Research Analyst – Survey‑Based Primary Research

About the role

Nielsen is seeking a Junior Research Analyst to join its Hamburg team. In this primary‑research focused position you will work on a variety of survey‑based projects, supporting senior researchers and collaborating closely with clients and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain daily communication with clients and stakeholders to understand research needs.
• Design online surveys in partnership with senior researchers, covering all key objectives.
• Manage sample collection, set representative quotas and perform quality checks on raw survey data.
• Process data using the Decipher online survey platform, including coding, weighting and tabulation.
• Analyse data sets, create charts and reports that highlight actionable insights.
• Present findings to clients in a clear, concise and engaging manner.

Required profile

• Bilingual proficiency in English and German.
• Previous experience in primary research, insights or data analytics within the media or advertising industry.
• Strong numerical and analytical mindset with a passion for research.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to present to internal and external audiences.
• Team‑player with solid time‑ and project‑management abilities.
• High attention to detail, especially when testing survey links and reviewing raw data.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Decipher online survey platform.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
• Familiarity with Google Suite.
