Maintenance Engineer – Tabless & Cell Assembly

About the role

As a Maintenance Engineer at Tesla's Gigafactory Berlin‑Brandenburg, you will ensure safe, reliable operation of the Tabless & Cell Assembly lines. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams and external vendors to optimise maintenance processes, reduce downtime and support continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate CE acceptance processes, manage documentation and conduct stakeholder walk‑downs with equipment manufacturers, EHS, engineering, operations and maintenance teams.
• Manage apprentices, plan headcount, allocate resources and oversee daily maintenance operations.
• Develop and implement cost‑saving initiatives for spare‑parts strategy, supplier reduction and inventory optimisation.
• Design, maintain and analyse dashboards, reports and KPIs to monitor equipment performance, energy consumption and system efficiency.
• Lead maintenance projects aimed at equipment improvements, downtime reduction and planned‑maintenance optimisation.
• Own the PCA process for maintenance topics, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
• Oversee forklift and pallet‑jack budgets, repairs and cost management.
• Implement and manage a regulated equipment system, coordinating routine inspections and maintenance activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on mechanical or electrical engineering experience in a production or industrial maintenance environment.
• Proficiency in reading mechanical, electrical and pneumatic schematics.
• Familiarity with production metrics such as OEE, MTTR and MTBF.
