Research Scientist – HPC, AI & Training

About the role

The High-Performance Computing Center Stuttgart (HLRS) seeks a research scientist to strengthen its training concept within the bwHPC‑S5 project and to contribute to the EU GreenShift master programme. The role combines scientific expertise in high‑performance computing and artificial intelligence with curriculum design and delivery for advanced training courses.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the training work package of the bwHPC‑S5 project, aligning with Baden‑Württemberg’s strategic goals for HPC and data‑intensive computing.
• Design the curriculum and deliver the online EU Master’s programme in AI & HPC for Green Digital Innovation in Transport.
• Complement the master’s programme with workshops, lectures and networking events.
• Develop training resources for lecturers and faculty to ensure consistent, high‑quality delivery.
• Promote the GreenShift project, highlighting its benefits for transport innovation, SMEs and industry stakeholders.

Required profile

• PhD or equivalent in Computer Science, HPC, AI or a closely related discipline.
• Proven experience in academic training, curriculum development or similar educational activities.
• Familiarity with European transport sector sustainability challenges.
• Ability to work in interdisciplinary, international project teams.
