Senior Accountant (Bilanzbuchhalter) – Global Finance Role

About the role

Appinio is seeking a tech‑savvy Senior Accountant (Bilanzbuchhalter) to become a key driver of financial integrity across its global operations. You will work closely with the Team Lead Accounting to build a fully automated, scalable accounting ecosystem while ensuring accurate month‑end and year‑end closes.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and optimise the financial ledgers of the Appinio Group, guaranteeing 100% accuracy, compliance and thorough documentation.
• Collaborate with the Team Lead Accounting to achieve fast, clean month‑end and year‑end closes (HGB) for the German entity and support subsidiary entities.
• Prepare audit documentation and schedules, acting as the internal expert for external auditors.
• Drive implementation and optimisation of the accounting tool‑stack (Light, DATEV, Lucanet) to create a digital, scalable function.
• Serve as a technical gatekeeper, reviewing accounting topics, ensuring data robustness and reducing manual effort.
• Provide technical sparring on accounting, tax and compliance matters.
• Support technical consolidation and international alignment of subsidiaries in Spain, the UK, the US and Colombia.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of professional experience in accounting or finance.
• Strong technical orientation with a passion for automation and data quality.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, globally distributed environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Light accounting software.
• Experience using DATEV.
• Knowledge of Lucanet for consolidation.
