Financial Controller

About the role

This high‑impact finance leadership position is based in Germany and operates across multiple European entities. You will own financial control, reporting, and accounting operations for the EU region, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely closing while supporting post‑merger integration and ERP implementation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for financial control, accounting operations, and reporting across European entities.
• Lead month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end closing processes, including consolidation and alignment with group reporting standards.
• Ensure compliance with BE GAAP and local regulations, coordinate audits and manage external auditor relationships.
• Manage and develop the accounting team (AP, AR, bank), driving operational efficiency and ownership.
• Partner with controlling teams to align financial reporting, forecasting, and business performance.
• Drive continuous improvement, standardisation, automation, and optimisation of financial processes and controls.
• Contribute to ERP (Oracle NetSuite) implementation, system setup, process design, and data quality.
• Support post‑merger integration by harmonising financial processes across European entities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics.
• 8‑10+ years of accounting or controlling experience in an international environment.
• Strong expertise in multi‑entity structures, financial consolidation and end‑to‑end accounting.
• Solid knowledge of BE GAAP; IFRS knowledge is a strong advantage.
• Experience with Belgian and Dutch regulatory environments is highly desirable.
• Proven track record with ERP systems, preferably Oracle NetSuite, and involvement in implementation projects.
• Leadership experience managing and developing finance teams.
