Senior Air Operations Specialist – 2nd Shift

About the role

The Senior Air Operations Specialist will manage documentation, routing and rate negotiation for ground and air shipments on the 2nd shift (16:00‑00:00). Based in Germany, you will act as the primary contact for client inquiries, resolve issues and support the sales team with accurate freight quoting.

Key responsibilities

• Generate and review airline bills, motor carrier BOLs, export/import declarations and NAFTA/USMCA forms.
• Select optimal transport modes for U.S. and cross‑border Canadian shipments, balancing cost and service level.
• Negotiate rates and service agreements with carriers such as UPS, DHL and FedEx, and monitor carrier performance.
• Coordinate daily with customs brokers to provide import documentation, track entries and expedite clearance.
• Audit domestic freight invoices, identify discrepancies and work with carriers to adjust charges.
• Provide sales teams with weight/dimension data, prepare freight quotes and recommend cost‑effective carriers.
• Serve as the main point of contact for client shipment status updates and complaint resolution.
• Maintain accurate records to meet corporate and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Excellent verbal and written communication with strong problem‑solving abilities.
• Proven ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Detail‑oriented analytical mindset.
• Eligibility to reside and work in Germany (proof of residence and work permit required).

Required skills

• Proficiency with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platforms.
• Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
