About the role
The Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (School Nurse) will deliver emotional health and wellbeing interventions for children and young people, support child protection and transition work, and contribute to the development of school nursing pathways across Glasgow.
Key responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of children and young people, providing assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care programmes.
- Deliver evidence‑based Tier 1 and Tier 2 emotional health and wellbeing interventions.
- Work collaboratively with families, carers and other professionals to meet agreed school nursing pathways.
- Support preceptorship and mentorship of junior staff and SCPHN students.
- Participate in supervision, research, audit and continuous quality improvement activities.
- Maintain professional registration and complete required CPD.
Required profile
- Live NMC UK PIN and first‑level registration as a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse – School Nurse or Public Health Nurse.
- Master’s level qualification in SCPHN (School Nursing) or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience in emotional health and wellbeing interventions and child protection.
- Evidence of ongoing post‑registration CPD.
- Ability to work within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde policies and procedures.

What we offer
- Permanent full‑time contract (36 hours per week).
- Shift pattern: Monday‑Thursday 08:30‑16:30, Friday 08:30‑16:00.
- Two locations: South‑Pollok Health Centre and Community Centre for Health in Partick, Glasgow.
