Community Staff Nurse – Immunisations in Schools

About the role

The NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking experienced NMC‑registered nurses to join its Immunisations Schools Team. You will deliver school‑based immunisation programmes for children and young people, supporting public health initiatives across Glasgow and surrounding areas.

Key responsibilities

• Provide immunisations to children and young people in schools and community settings.
• Occasionally support pre‑school immunisation for babies and infants.
• Work as part of a small, skill‑mix team to ensure high‑quality, patient‑centred care.
• Collaborate with colleagues across North West Glasgow/West Dunbarton and South Glasgow/East Renfrewshire.
• Maintain accurate records and adhere to national immunisation policies.

Required profile

• Registered on Part 1 of the NMC register.
• Experience or interest in immunising children and young people.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s licence for city and countryside travel.

Required skills

• IT skills for record‑keeping and reporting.
