Tax Accountant

About the role

Weir is seeking a Tax Accountant to join its finance team in Germany. Working in a hybrid model, you will support the company’s sustainable mining initiatives by ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance across multiple entities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts, delivering clear commentary for decision‑making.
• Maintain and improve internal control frameworks to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Own the balance‑sheet reconciliation process, resolving discrepancies promptly.
• Lead end‑to‑end month‑end close activities, driving automation and standardisation.
• Review, calculate and post accruals with thorough documentation.
• Act as primary contact for external and internal auditors, managing audit schedules and queries.
• Handle intercompany transactions, settlements and eliminations, standardising processes for efficiency.
• Drive harmonisation of accounting processes (R2R, P2P, OTC) and support SAP system upgrades.
• Collaborate with Finance Centres of Excellence, regional finance directors and commercial finance teams.

Required profile

• Relevant accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, or equivalent).
• Proven experience in management accounting and month‑end close.
• Strong understanding of internal controls, audit processes and intercompany accounting.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally and communicate financial information clearly.
