About the role

As a Financial Accountant within BASF's Global Business Services, you will join an international Financial Reporting team. The position focuses on general ledger and fixed‑asset accounting, ensuring accurate financial statements and tax calculations for the German electromobility business.

Key responsibilities

• Process business transactions in the general ledger and fixed‑asset modules.
• Reconcile sub‑ledgers and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and HGB.
• Calculate income tax for German BASF Group companies and support monthly group reporting.
• Answer internal and external reporting inquiries and act as the central finance contact for subsidiaries.
• Participate in projects and drive technical and process improvements, including the transition to SAP S/4HANA.

Required profile

• Completed degree in Business Administration with a focus on Accounting and Taxation.
• Qualified Certified Accountant or equivalent (e.g., Tax Specialist).
• Professional experience in external financial reporting and knowledge of IFRS and HGB.
• Very good German and good English language skills.
• Strong analytical thinking, independent work style and high motivation for team success.
